Main events

BIRMINGHAM COMEDY FESTIVAL – Sunday 8th October

1.15pm – The Toadshow
Midlands based double act and former Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent nominees Lucy Thompson and Thomas Rackham bring one hour of shambolic sketch comedy into your eyes and ears (and laps if near the front). ‘Comedians to see in 2017’ – Birmingham Mail. @thetoadshow

2.30pm – Bob Blackman’s Tray?
The funniest men in Staffordshire encounter local characters old and new. Or do they?
‘The funniest men in Staffordshire’ – Stoke Sentinel. @trayact

3.45pm – Mike Drop: The Adventures of a One Man Band
Michael Dryburgh hasn’t always been an award nominated up-and-coming comedian. He was once a musician who accidentally became a one man hip hop group. In telling his origin story he mixes his amiable standup comedy with impressive live looping music. Imagine Ed Sheeran with knob jokes. @mikedryburgh

5pm – Weird A***holes
A portmanteau of horror comedy – you’ll wish you were dead! 10-year-old Simon copes with his miserable home life by escaping into the world of his favourite comic book Weird A***holes. From the minds of award-winning character acts Andrew Mcburney, Jack Kirwan and Paul Palmer. @weird—-holes

BIRMINGHAM COMEDY FESTIVAL  – SUNDAY 15TH OCTOBER

1.15pm – Foghorn Unscripted: What The Dickens?
Improvised comedy Charles Dickens play. Cheer on our plucky heroes and help decide their fate as they struggle in their journey to find love and fortune, against adversity, poverty and wickedness. Join us in the sumptuous drawing rooms, murky streets and smoky taverns to meet filthy hags, absurd snobs and plucky ne’er-do-wells along the way. @FoghornImprov

2.30pm – Gareth Berliner: Crossroads
Gareth is at a Crossroads after landing a role in Coronation Street and has started writing in the third person. He’ll be talking funny, looking funny and even doing magic, the likes of which you’ve never seen, literally. Why not come and see his show in the first person… @GarethBerliner

3.45pm – Apple-Knockers
One hour of comedy argy-bargy from two ex-playboy models Danny Clives (Pleasance Comedy Reserve 2017) and Stu Woodings (Hot Water Comedy New Comedian 2015) @dannyclives | @stu_woodings

5pm – Round The Horne: Resuscitated
Come and join the fun as we recreate a recording of the iconic 1960s radio comedy Round The Horne, with all your favourite characters (and more) making an appearance, including Ramblin’ Syd Rumpo, Charles and Fiona, Bea Clissold, and Julian and Sandy. All these brought to you by the unforgettable Kenneth Williams et al, and master of ceremonies Kenneth Horne himself! @craiguito
