The Environment

Although it’s a bit flavour of the month we at The Victoria feel it is our duty to cut down on waste and energy usage as much as possible as our way of reducing the impact of our activities on the environment.

Recycling

It’s a sad fact that too many operators in our industry could not care less about recycling their waste.  Thankfully The Victoria is different and along with it’s sister bars Island and The Jekyll & Hyde recycles approximately 80% of it’s glass and cardboard waste each week.  The kitchen also recycles all its used cooking oil each week.  So if this kind of thing matters to you, next time you are out in a bar in Birmingham ask the manager how much of their waste they recycle.

Saving Energy

As well as using low energy light bulbs both inside and outside The Victoria, we also reduce our energy consumption on our beer chillers by utilising devices which switch the power off when they are not required.  This is a simple measure which makes sense to us as a consumer of power and makes sense to the environment because it helps us reduce our carbon footprint.
